We began in 1984 on a rubble-strewn 2700 sq. ft. corner of industrial Chelsea at 23rd Street and 10th Avenue, with a garden umbrella, a redwood table to hold the cash box, a tiny cedar potting shed as our office, and the rest of the space given over to plants we brought into Manhattan specifically for creating city gardens. Since that time, we've grown to a fully operational garden center and landscaping company with 60 employees. As well as the outstanding plants we bring into the city, we sell all the soils and amendments, pesticides, insecticides, tools, pots, containers, statuary and fountains New Yorkers need to build their city gardens, plus a superb selection of garden furniture.
